Note that, while the armor class will not change dynamically on this calculator, items of mail or plate armor class are downgraded one armor type for characters below level 40 in the game. Plate items become mail and mail items become leather for these characters.

Heirloom Items

Heirloom items are a new type of items that were added to the game with Wrath of the Lich King. They are Bind to Account and can be mailed to other characters on your account, regardless of their level. You can purchase Heirloom Items from badge vendors and the PvP vendors in Wintergrasp.

At level 80, most of the Heirloom Items are approximately equivalent to an item level 187 rare item.

Note that items of mail or plate armor class are downgraded one armor type for characters below level 40. Plate items become mail and mail items become leather for these characters.
